Jorge & Leyda Wedding – Hudson, NH
“Better spend your saving to fill your new house (home) rather than blew it all at once on your wedding day.”
That’s what our friends told us when we’re getting married. Definitely not a popular quote for wedding vendors (lol) but the truth must be spoken! — Not only with material but as well with all other investment, time and efforts.
It is quite uncommon practice, but marriage education (or pre-marital counseling) is one of the things I know is good. To learn and study the nature and purpose of marriage, to live united, to handle fight and conflict in healthy way, and other things. It’s one of good areas on which you could invest your time, not only to prepare that one wedding day, but for the eternity after you said you’ll do :)
Now back to the saving! You’ll heard a lot to save money on your wedding, and one of the most popular tips is to DIY (Do It Yourself). It will be a nightmare if you have no idea what you’re doing, but if you’re a crafty person and have a tasteful skill, you could make literally any places beautiful!
Leyda, the Bride, was once a florist, hence her DIY project are just amazing. It’s a backyard wedding, with a mid-size tent on the front lawn. Simple but sublime! Enjoy.
Mimo & Icha Engagement Session – Fan Pier Park, Boston, MA
This is probably our first nightscape engagement session. Taken at Fan Pier Park, Boston MA – with spectacular night view across the river. The weather was windy and cloudy all day, expecting to rain in the evening, but as the sun setting down, the sky turned out to be spectacular!
We lost in time, with our flashes and soft-box. Enjoy some of these pictures :)
Matthew’s Senior Portraits, Garrison Hill, Dover NH
Meet Matthew, the serious guy (according to his Mom :)).
This is our first Senior session this year, and we had it at our favorite place, Garrison Hill, Dover NH. Not only it’s only 5 minutes away, but they have many different views from all different angles.
Now for some update, you might want to have new pictures of yourself this year. Yeah, your old pictures probably already out-dated! You might want to show your new hair-style, make up or even your pet / new gears / gadgets / many more on your coming yearbook!
We currently open our dates for Senior session, 30 minutes to 1 hour. Make sure to book in advance, and get your spot :)
Matt & Laura Wedding – Belgrade Lakes, Maine
Backyard wedding couldn’t be more beautiful with the lake-front view (maybe it is with mountains and rainbow). Their family house has exactly that, up in Belgrade Lakes, ME. When we arrived, all the kids were swimming all over the lake (if only I brought my short).
Matt & Laura, a Musician and Coca-cola’s lover. Both of them, also their families really know how to party, and surprisingly 90% of the guests were rocking the floor! When you have a straight 4 hours of dance time, your feet will be really worn out; no complaint though – it was a great night!
Enjoy the galleries! :)
Beibee (Baby) – Maternity Session
Celebrating the new life! We still don’t know yet the gender of the baby, so it is kind of exciting and frustrating (to some people, especially her parents) at the same time.
We had this session on Rochester, NH. The field of wild flowers and grasses. Was kinda expecting the golden hour, but we got a thick cloud instead. Well, as long as it’s not raining :)
See you in October, little boy/girl!
Paul & Susan Wedding – Bethel Church, Dover, NH
It is now official! Susan will have to change her maiden name :)
Their wedding was relatively short. In the morning, there was not enough time for the make up and preparation to be photographed (due to some conflict with their planning) but overall it went pretty well, and happy ending.
The weather was nice, the foods… (oh boy, no need to ask), and the dance time at the end of reception was really fun and exciting.
No further due, please enjoy some of the pictures!
Andy & Ashley Engagement Session – Flag Hill Winery, Lee, NH
So, we met this couple last year. Andy and Ashley, they were the first client that booked us in 2013 for their wedding this coming October 2014! Long time await, the day is right around the corner before we know it! So, we started with their engagement session. It was quite a challenging time for us to find a good place for them, as they wanted to find a “Hops” field, but it’s really nowhere to be found around this area (the closest is 3 hours drive from Somersworth, NH).
We brainstormed some other options, and Flag Hill Winery up on Lee, NH was kind enough to let us use their place for these pictures :)
Too bad the grapes are not so ripe yet, but even so, this place is so gorgeous nonetheless! Now, just enjoy the rest of the pictures!
Jan B’s Family Reunion – Riverwoods, Exeter NH
A little detour from wedding photography. We had a chance to photograph a family reunion of 4 generations, ranging from 8 months to 92 years old. They’re almost a century apart! It was really a heartwarming and pleasant evening for us. Family is absolutely the most precious thing you can have, don’t walk away from them.
Enjoy some of our captured moments, with some cuteness overload of the kids! :)
Paul & Susan Engagement – Hilton Park, Portsmouth NH
They are getting married next weekend!
Paul & Susan, our family in Christ. I am so happy they are together now, especially for Susan whom almost gave up on looove :). I hope they will be in a great shape, including all the plans and preparation may they will be far from problems. Hope for a great weather too! (forecast says Sunny).
Can’t wait for the wedding day and again, Congratulation!
Tim & Andrea Wedding – Westport Island (Wiscasset), Maine
Meet Tim & Andrea, they are our first wedding couple in 2014.
They rented the private house (The Smith House) with their friends and family, and spent the whole week over there at Westport Island, ME. Gorgeous view of waterfront and back! Not to mention it has a huge green land.
Even though there were only 23 people in this small wedding, this would be the most intimate wedding we have known! Everyone at the wedding are so joyful, laid back, kind to us. buy cialis 20mg. Some of them are cool, some are crazy (lol).
Each event and photograph has its own story of their family, tradition, passion and reminiscence (not possible to list all pictures here). Start from, they brewed their own beer! as Tim work in this field :) — and then, the story goes on…
God bless your marriage, and stay in good health!
Xander Wallace – 1st Birthday!
Hi Xander, it was a small party at your backyard but definitely a fun time surround with fun kids and people – fabulous food as well!
Happy birthday! I hope you had a wonderful first year on earth (though you might not remember this moment when you grow up, these pictures shall be your evidence).
Summer is Around The Corner!
“We are so glad winter is over!” I believe most of (wedding) photographers would say the same.
Not only it makes us somewhat unproductive, it’s a waste of life not being able to comfortably enjoying the beauty of nature and instead, trapped inside the house for over 6 months ;(
This picture is a quick snap of the “little paradise” we set on our backyard, accompanied by electric grill :)
Well, time of the year is here! Fire up that grill, spread up the chairs, re-finished your deck, mow that lawn, and enjoy the season!
Pre-Prom Session – Sasha, Mikha, Theresia, Naomi, Cherissa, Kayla
Prom just had it spark few weeks ago. Considering all the hard works, starts from the make up, gorgeous dresses, shoes, we thought, why don’t we have a photo session?
We ended up doing it! Actually only 3 people who should have gone to the Prom, the rest of the girls were jumping in to the fun. Well, why not? Taken at Garrison Hill Tower, Dover, NH.
Jon & Elsa Mini Portrait Session
There’s a saying: “Marry the one you love, and love the one you married.”
Jon & Elsa just passed 1st year of their marriage. We know.. first couple years are “honeymoon stage” :) — later on, year 3 – 7 is where the real challenge begins. Of course there will be a lot of adjustments, compromises and sacrifices need to be done, especially when there are children involved.
Not saying I’m full of experience, ah heck! my wife and I are not even hit our 1st anniversary yet, lol – but this is the least thing I can give to this couple.
A love portraits which I hope will keep them strong for many years to come; when they’re into a fight, distress with new insurance policy, migraine while chasing their kids around the house, burnt toast, undesirable new spouse’s haircut; But when the quiet evening approach, they can sit down, look at these photographs, relieves and say:
“You know what? I am glad that I have to go through all this crap with you by my side.”
Merry Christmas 2013 & Happy New Year 2014!
Hi guys! we hope you completed 2013 strong and wonderfully! Best of 2014 is yet to come, but we believe God’s grace is never end. It was a busy December, as we also joined and helped the preparation of our Local Church for their Christmas Celebration. We did a little different experiments with DIY Photo-booth ($100 – $150 budget) compared to last year. Here’s a little breakdown about our Photobooth:
- We’re using the gift-wrap paper as the background (hence a little flare effect on the back).
- Camera on tripod, connected to my laptop via USB, tethered with Lightroom (preset applied).
- Exported periodically into Canon Selphy‘s Folder to make it easier.
- Laptop connected to the Printer via SSID, and print directly via their software.
Simple, neat, even though a little slow due to the speed of the printer (like 1 minute / picture), and semi-automatic process. However, the quality and the result is just grand! Enjoy our little gallery, and we wish you again the very best year of 2014 to come! :D
